Our History...
Ebenezer is the oldest church in Rockdale County. We trace our beginnings to camp meetings, the first of which was documented in 1818. The original site was chosen because there was a grove and a spring located on the property. EUMC was once part of the Yellow River Circuit with 27 other churches.
Ten years later, 1828, a log meeting house was built and a church was organized. The adjoining 2.9 acres were purchased for $2 in 1831. In 1872, the Chapel, located on the lower end of the property, was built and is still in use today.
Milton Waldrop donated land for the cemetery where he buried his two sons who were killed in the Civil War in 1862.
The church went through several transformations and in 1982 became a full time church, growing from 121 member to 430 members.
The present sanctuary was completed in 1990, built on three acres, and fronting Stanton Road.

In the year 2000, an Education Building and Activities Center were added to the Ebenezer campus.
